What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a Te Ara Huarau School Profile Report from May 2023. This type of report sets out the focus for the school’s improvement work with ERO rather than judging results.

ERO and the school chose to look at how far deep learning is lifting student engagement, agency, equity and excellence, and ERO named three strengths to build on: a curriculum that responds closely to students’ needs, interests and identities, leaders committed to a clear plan for improvement, and relationships that help students feel included and connected.

The school’s priorities are to build a shared understanding of deep learning and what makes it happen, to grow the ability of teachers and leaders to put the right practices and systems in place, and to use student voice and achievement information at every level to keep refining that work for equity and excellence.
