What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a Te Ara Huarau School Profile Report from September 2023. This kind of report sets out what ERO and the school will evaluate together, here how well the school builds the skills of teachers and leaders to achieve fair outcomes for all students.

ERO pointed to positive, supportive relationships between teachers and students, well-targeted professional learning, and a senior leadership team that keeps students at the centre.

Next, the school planned to take a deliberate approach to developing the teaching practice of middle leaders and teachers, use achievement information to plan a curriculum that responds to students, and ask students how well the local curriculum is working for them.

Enrolling

Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol, with proof of residence. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, by ballot when there are more applicants than places. The board sets the number of out-of-zone places each year, and the zone page sets out the zone boundary and the priority order for out-of-zone applicants.

Application forms are available from the school office or by email. The school then invites the student and their whānau to an enrolment interview, and asks for proof of address, the latest school report, an immunisation record and a birth certificate or passport.
