Hamilton Rubbish & Recycling

Bin collection days for every Hamilton suburb, what goes in each bin, and where to drop off everything else.

Hamilton has a green food scraps bin collected every week, with the red rubbish bin and the yellow recycling bin and glass crate taking turns each week. Here is how to find your collection day, what goes in each bin, and where to take everything else.

Have your bins out by 7am on collection day, and not before 5pm the night before. A few streets differ from the rest of their suburb, so check your exact address with the council’s lookup.

Is it a red week or a yellow week?

Put your address into the council's 'What day do I put my bins out?' tool to see your day and the next two weeks. The Antenno app can send you reminders.

My bin wasn't collected. What now?

Call the council on 07 838 6699. Report it after the end of the day, because crews work until early evening.
